A guided rafting trip on the Snake River through Hells Canyon is full of awe inspiring geology through the deepest gorge in North America, big whitewater, great hiking trails, and a rich history dating back thousands of years where the history is literally on the canyon walls as we hike along and see Nez Perce pictographs, the remains of Chinese mining claims, and homesteaders cabins. Hells Canyon has so much to offer. Days will be filled with running exciting whitewater, side hikes to explore the history of the canyon, and ending at comfortable camps for you to relax and enjoy good company. Standard trips are 5 days in length, but we can also accommodate 3 day, 4 day, and 6 day trip length options. Be sure to check out our Wine and Food on the River option!

Outside of the primary season, guided whitewater trips can be launched on any date. If you have a group of at least 6 people contact us to customize your trip. Groups of less than 6 may be able to join an existing trip. Off season trips provide an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in the splendor of the changing seasons. Float the river in the spring to watch as the hills turn green and flowers begin to bloom. Join us in the fall to breath the crisp morning air and bask in the lazy rays of an Indian Summer sun. Guided whitewater trips on the Snake River will begin with guests meeting at the Minam Store. The night before we launch guides and guests will get to know each other and final details of the trip will be discussed. In the morning we will shuttle you to Hells Canyon Dam for the start of your multi-day river excursion. For people choosing to join us for 3 days, trips will end 32 miles downriver at Pittsburg Landing. On 3 day trips the shuttle fee is not included in your trip cost and we will help arrange for your vehicle to be shuttled to Pittsburg Landing or arrange a "jetback" for your group to be jet boated back to Hells Canyon Dam. For those opting for a longer float, we will end almost 79 miles down river at Heller Bar. From the takeout location, you will be shuttled back to your vehicle at the Minam Store or you can pay an additional fee to have your vehicle shuttled to the takeout.
Our guided whitwater trips are all inclusive. Guests will be provided with top of the line camping and rafting equipment. On the river you will be well taken care of in our top of the line rafts and with type V PFD's. In camp lounge around in a comfy chair while you wait for an restaurant caliber meal prepared by our guides using fresh locally sourced ingredients. Drifting off to sweet river dreams under the stars or in one of our spacious tents is easy with our sturdy cots, thick sleeping pads, and plush sleeping bags.
Deposit & Cancellation Policy:
50% down payment is required to book a trip with final payment due 30 days prior to launch. Deposits and final payments are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Effective July 25, 2020 All guests making reservations for multi-day trips are required to purchase CFAR (cancel for any reason) Travel Insurance to protect their investment and ours. We recommend purchasing your CFAR travel insurance through a company like AIG Travel Guard or Travelex. We cannot continue to invest money into equipment, guides, trip supplies, and food to give you the best river trip possible and then refund money when events cause you to cancel, or us to cancel for reasons that may be out of anyone's control. Covid-19 regulations and travel restrictions are everchanging and purchasing CFAR travel insurance will protect your investment. We cannot give cash refunds for any reason whatsoever. We cannot make exceptions due to medical or family emergencies, weather conditions, travel restrictions imposed by local, state, or federal agencies. CFAR travel insurance protects your investment whether you cancel for any reason or we are unable to perform the trip. Most insurance companies require trip insurance to be purchased within a couple weeks of making your deposit so do not put it off.
Minam Store Outfitters reserves the right to move any trip to a different river for safety due to extreme water conditions, forest fires, road closures, and/or acts of God. Minam Store Outfitters reserves the right to change partner wineries or chefs if scheduled winery or chef can not participate for any reason.
