Wallowa River Rafting

Rafting the Wallowa River is perfect for those seeking an enjoyable day of scenery, sunshine, and outdoor family fun. Although the river gradient is steep, the whitewater is largely mild with scattered class II rapids. However, the quick current keeps things exciting as every bend provides a new view of the river and surrounding beauty. Each day during the primary season we offer two float options: join us in the morning for a trip down the Wallowa Highway Section or book a spot on the afternoon run and enjoy a float down the Wallowa Roadless Section.

For the morning launch, we’ll shuttle you 10 miles upriver and float back to the Minam Store. This stretch of the river is ideal for those with afternoon plans and who are looking for a great way to get outside and pass a pleasant summer morning. Grab a paddle, sit back and relax to the sound of the river and the motion of the boat, but be sure to keep your eyes peeled for bald eagles, elk, bears, and other stunning wildlife.

In the afternoon, we’ll launch at the Minam Store and continue 9 miles downriver ending just before the confluence with the Grande Ronde. At the end of the float, you will receive a one of a kind hi-rail shuttle back to Minam along the railroad tracks. This stretch has the best whitewater on the Wallowa paired with the scenery and solitude that only comes with entering roadless wilderness.

Floats can be booked Saturday-Thursday through the summer beginning Memorial Day Weekend. Available dates subject to change due to river conditions.

Wallowa Highway Section: $60 per person

Wallowa Roadless Section: $95 per person

6 Person maximum per boat
