The Stoneflies are Coming! The Stoneflies are Coming! Wallowa and Grande Ronde Fishing Report June 5, 2026

Well, we thought the stoneflies might start hatching earlier this year given the lower flows and warmer water temps and that prediction is coming true. The last few days we have been seeing the big golden stones both upstream and downstream of Minam!

The Grande Ronde is in great fishing shape at 2,060 cfs today and the Wallowa is fishing great right now!

Get out your Chubby Chernobyls and Pat’s Rubber Legs and go fish those dry/dropper setups. A double nymph rig with weighted stones will work best the first half of the day, but the trout are beginning to look up more in the afternoons and responding to dries.
