We don't normally get to fish the Wallowa and Grande Ronde in May because in a normal year, we have lots of snow in the winter, and lots of rain in May, which typically means high off color water through May.  This year we have a low snowpack and not much rain in May.  So the river, just like last year, is going to be fishable through May and early June.  I don't expect a blown out Wallowa this spring unless we get consecutive days of heavy rain.

Good news?  We had guides out the last 2 days on the Wallowa River, both the highway stretch and the rail stretch, and the fishing was on fire!  

If your looking for a guided day trip fishing the Wallowa or Grande Ronde, do it! The rivers are fishing great! We have multiple guides available Friday through Monday right now and limited guide availability Tuesday through Thursday.
